Okanogan-Omak Rotary Club donated $1,000 to help Haitians recover from the recent earthquake.

The Rotary Foundation has established the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund to receive donations from Rotarians who want to support recovery efforts after the powerful earthquake that rocked Haiti on 12 January. Okanogan-Omak Rotary Club stepped up to the plate with a $1,000 donation. "Individual Rotarians are also giving generously to Haitian relief funds," says Club President Wendy Hensarling.
"We live in a fairly benign seismic region here in the Okanogan," notes former UW professor and Rotarian Bob Goodwin. "But our friends and loved ones on The Coast face risks of catastrophic earthquakes not unlike the one that devastated Haiti. We share the uncertainty of living in earthquake country," he adds.
The Rotary Foundation fund is advised by Rotary District 7020 in the Caribbean, which includes Haiti.
